JOSHUA’S JOURNEY

Joshua is a visual filmmaker, who comes from an artistic background. Growing up, he could be found bringing his imagination into life, in many art mediums. In high school, he became inspired to pursue filmmaking, and started editing his very first short films. In 2008, Joshua started his journey as a filmmaker, formally studying Motion Pictures & Television at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
During his four years at AAU, Joshua transformed from an amateur filmmaker to a professional. With an emphasis in Film Editing, Joshua learned the craft of cutting narrative stories. As a student (and later on as a working professional), he has edited dozens of film projects, including short films, commercials, music videos, trailers, sizzle reels, corporate videos and more - some of which can be seen on the Portfolio page.
After graduating college with honors in 2012, Joshua made the move to Los Angeles, to join the film industry. 12 years later, he has built a resume that includes experience working freelance in post-production at a wide range of different production companies, both large and small, including Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Netflix, Apple, Marvel, Dreamworks, Legendary, Lionsgate, 20th Century Fox, Amazon and MGM. He has also gained experience working on multiple television shows for channels including ABC, CBS, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Oprah Winfrey's Network, truTV, Vudu, Yahoo! and Facebook Watch. In addition, Joshua has worked on a handful of sizzle reels for television shows in Development, Electronic Press Kits for major feature films, television promo spots, music videos, corporate videos, and internet video content.
Joshua's ambition has always been to become an Editor of major feature films and / or scripted television shows. In 2016, he found his way into big budget feature film editorial, and has since worked in post-production on 13 major blockbuster feature films: The Great Wall (2017), Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), Samaritan (2022), Coyote vs. Acme (2026), The Gray Man (2022), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), Air (2023), All Fun & Games (2023), Red One (2024), Lear Rex (TBA), and Ella McCay (2025). In 2018, he earned membership into the Motion Picture Editor's Guild, IATSE Local 700, as a Union Assistant Editor. Joshua is always on the lookout for any opportunities to demonstrate his talent, knowledge and passion for scripted film and television post-production, and continues to seek Union Assistant Editor positions. He also seeks opportunities to demonstrate his skills and experience as an Editor, on any production. He has edited many independent film projects over the last decade, for many clients.
